Your photos. Your Drive. Your control.
MyPhotosAnywhere
MyPhotosAnywhere (MPA) is an open-source Android gallery for browsing, finding and organizing photos and videos on your device and in Google Drive accounts and folders you connect.
A gallery backed by your storage
Browse a chronological photo timeline, view originals on demand, organize albums and people, search indexed photo information, and choose which device photos to back up. MPA supports Google Takeout imports and keeps original transfers separate from thumbnails and other generated data.
Connect Google Drive to discover selected source folders, download photos, upload selected originals and library metadata, and use explicit Drive Trash and restore actions. Device photo access is a separate Android permission. Connecting an account does not automatically enable camera backup.
Optional computer processing
The MPA 0.6 Processor for Windows, Linux and macOS is under development. Its planned role is background metadata extraction, previews and optional recognition on your computer. The phone and Processor use Google Drive for durable library data and a paired local-network connection for setup and controls. Processor installers will be linked here when a joint release has passed validation.
The currently published Android version and its supported features are described in its release notes. This page does not claim the Processor is already available.
Privacy and account control
MPA uses your selected storage and your devices; it does not require an MPA-hosted processing service or a paid AI API. Google Drive permissions can cover your whole Drive even though MPA limits library operations to configured sources, destinations and its metadata workspace. Read the privacy policy for data access, processing, retention and revocation details.
MPA is an independent project, not a Google product. Personal-test releases may show Google verification or operating-system publisher warnings. Public download availability does not mean Google has verified the application.
Support
